November 2013 – Beat the Best Team

2.11.2013

Our first match in November was against Burnley. I lost 2 key player, Gibson and Destro, so i had to put my backup poacher as deep-lying forward while Mehmet Topal in ball-winning midfielder.

This match ended so early in 2nd minutes. Marilungo scored the one and only goal but after that both team failed to score. Not really happy because we cant add anymore goal but atleast we won.

6.11.2013

After beating Schalke at away, i have quite confidence to beat them again at home. I have all my key player so winning is realistic.

But honestly i never thought this could be this easy. We won 5-1. The first goal coming from a very clever tactic of free kick by Verratti. Then, from a long pass to the other side of field + lovely shot from outside the goal become our second goal. Thanks to Sanogo for assist and Dempsey for scoring that goal. And after that assist, Sanogo scored his hat-trick just in 15 minutes. The first one, coming from the corner. The second one, was a rebound of Marilungo shot, and last one is a great solo effort by him himself. Unfortunately Verratti failed to score the penalty 3 minutes before break.

9.11.2013

3 days after big win against Schalke, we had to face Wolves. The morale was high and also i have all my players. Its a good sign we could win this also.

The first half ended with goalles draw. I was quite dissappointed with our performance. But just 6 minutes into second half, we got a corner. While Sanogo try to score, Wolves’s defender tackled him and we got a penalty. Our second goal was happened from a lovely cross from Dempsey before head goal by Sanogo. But in 83rd minute, an intercepted cost us a goal. Fortunately just a few second before end, Berra gaves us another goal.

23.11.2013

After having 2 weeks holiday, its time for us to meet Manchester City in PL. Its the most interesting fixture i guess since we both were the top of the table.

Honestly i dont really have confidence in this match, thats why i set as ‘defensive’. And just in 15 minutes, we conceded one goal. I really thought we will lose at that time. But Federico Fazio becomes my hero as he scored from a corner in 29th minute. After that, even though both team tries a few shots, there were no goal allowed. Final score, we draw 1-1

26.11.2013

Our second last game in November 2013 was against Real Madrid. After beat by them in home + draw with Man City last 3 days, i really, honestly thought we will lose.

But i dont know where their strength comes, we won the match. Its a proud comeback as we did it with a team such as Madrid. Just in 18 minutes, Karim Benzema scored a lovely goal from crossed by De Maria. But again, Federico Fazio becomes my hero as he head goal a leveller. And from a counter attack, Ramos pulled Sanogo shirt and referee gaves us a penalty which was too easy for Verratti. We won 2-1 but still second in the group.

30.11.2013

Our last match for November was against Sunderland. With morale sky high after beating Madrid, i was really confidence for this match. I also use my normal formation with ‘control’.

We were doing good as we took the lead first. It was coming from a corner, Bardsley try to block a header, but instead put the ball into the goal. In second half, a move start from Dempsey ended with his goal. It was a lovely poacher attack. Unfortunately we failed to keep the clean sheet after Wickham scored one from a crossing.

CONCLUSION

It was a great month as we unbeatable. Draw with Man City also an achievement for me but the biggest was we beat Real Madrid at their own home. A little disappointed for me are, we fail to keep clean sheet except for the first match against Burnley.

With 10 points, we are currently leading the table. But Man City can overtake our position as they have one more match to play.

Another 6 points for ECC group stages gaves us qualification to the next round. After beating Madrid, we still have a chance to finish this round as the leader of the group. But we need to win big against Zenit.

Neil Taylor maintain as my best player followed by Yaya Sanogo.

We will have 8 matches in December 2013. For me its a busy month. Hopefully there will no new player injured so i can do some rotation.
