March 2014 – Winning League Cup Or Not?

2.3.2014

Our first match in March was our first League Cup final. So we really need to win this match against Blackpool. Win to cement my position in the club + need to increase my player’s morale to go through future tough fixture.

Unavailable : Alberto De La Bella (DL), Fernando Gago (DMC) and Mattia Destro (ST) due to injury. Mini Kouma (MR) due to international duty. Jack Butland (GK) due to cup tied.

Blackpool defence really good as we need the extra time to win this match. 26 shots through out the match against 6 shots, but we only scored in 112th minute. Such a disappointing. At least we still win.

This was my 3rd silverware after winning the PL’s title last season and Community Shield early this season.

8.3.2014

So we coming back to PL challenge, a match against Fulham. They were currently in 15th position but i dont really want to underestimated them especially after this will be a match against FCP, a team we already lead 5-0.

I used a few young player in this match such as Mini Kouma, Pasquato and Galhardo. It was a balanced match, even i thought we will draw in this match. But Yaya Sanogo become our hero as he scored so late in the match.

12.3.2014

Leading 5-0 in the first leg is quite an achievement for us. But i dont really want to underestimate them since they are a good team and capable to make a comeback. So i slotted my best possible team.

After beating them 5-0 in away, i thought we could win big again in home. But i guess i was mistaken. They fight really good, keep attacking. Even i set control formation, but FCP player really tried a lot. And even though we lost Naughton in 69th minutes, Sanogo become our hero again as he scored twice for us to win this 2-1.

13.3.2014

As usual, 13th March is the date club in England got a new batch of youngster. So this is my youngster for this season. I will only keep John Richards and release the others.

And here John Richards attribute. Not a really good player but i hope he can develop well.

15.3.2014

Just 3 days after winning against FCP, we had another match, this time, its for PL, against Burnley. Honestly i lost a few key player due to unfit such as both my MC pair, Verratti-Gibson. So its kinda hard for me to be confidence in this match.

Even its a tough match, we managed to win, even more, Marilungo scored a hat-trick. Burnley managed to score one consolation goal through Jay Rodriguez.

19.3.2014

Our next match was against West Ham for FA Cup 5th Round Rep. After goalless draw in the first match, i dont wanna make the same mistake. So i put my best XI into this match.

With my first XI, its easier for us to win this match even its away. It took just 15 minutes for Sanogo scored the first goal and Dempsey add another one in 69th minutes. We won 2-0.

23.3.2014

Just 4 days after we beat FA Cup 5th Round, its time for 6th Round. Unfortunately its a tough opponent, which is Chelsea. But i guess i was lucky as all my player were fit to play.

As we already reached 6th Round, of course my intention was to win the cup. But Chelsea still one of the Big Team so its not that easy for us to beat them. Fortunately we still managed to draw against them.

26.3.2014

Our next opponent was Wolves for PL. Since i have one important match after this, i only use my second team in this match.

And i admit it was a wrong move. I shouldnt put my second team in this match. But atleast we could draw against them, not lose.

29.3.2014

The last match in March was the most important for PL’s title. Swansea (2nd) vs Man City (1st) with City lead only 2 points. If we win here, we will be the new leader. If we lose here, we might have to say good by to the silverware.

I dont know if we were lucky or what coz Bocchetti’s red card really help us. The first goal was a mistake by Hart while the second was a lovely shot by Fazio.

CONCLUSION

March 2014 was a memorable month as we won our first Carling/League Cup. And we also unbeaten with 6 win and 2 draw.

Beating Man City bring us to the top of the table. But Man City and Chelsea followed closely and only less 1 point from us.

Yaya Sanogo become our new leader after his consistent performance. Scott Sinclair stay as our top scorer, followed by Sanogo.

April 2014, might be the toughest month for us. We will have to face Arsenal twice for CL, the Tottenham for PL and Chelsea for FA Cup. Hopefully we can beat Arsenal.
